SO excited to hear this! you are tapping into something very interesting here. when one is so good at telling their story (I relate) it starts to feel more like a cage you are stuck in, then the lifeline it used to be. because of course, over time the story will change, even your own story. I have always felt I am better at telling my story than feeling it. it’s a natural resource that I do worry, can it be tapped into too many times before it looses its truth?
With “Like the Boys,” have once again given words to a high school experience I couldn’t put words too. I wanted to join their bare chested wrestling. as friends. I found other ways that oh! Severely harmed my developing psyche:) lol thank you for this beautiful song im elated for Good Story
my nipples got so hard and sad at "like the boys". the music video is perfection, too. i don't see this sentiment expressed too often, the hunger to be one of them, the limits of the female body. like i never knew if i wanted to fuck a boy or be him. often, the latter.

so so so excited!!! I just pre-ordered the record!!!!! Im finishing my master's thesis which is all about the limitations of personal storytelling, "authenticity", and the unfalsifiable nature of self-knowledge. Narrative conventions obviously limit our expressive power, but its hard to create new conventions that are socially intelligible. Deconstructing narrativity in a record is a fruitful approach, im looking forward to seeing it unfold!!
